Rush Vs. Rush →
As much as I enjoy either one of the Principals in this story, I have to disagree with Rush (the band)…
Songs are like children let loose into the world; once they grow-up they are free to be loved by whomever, regardless of political affiliation.
If bands feel so strongly about how their music might be used, they should specify in their contracts that the music not to be played on right-wing talk radio (or during Mongolian midget mud wrestling matches).
What’s that you say? This would be impossible to control and commercial suicide to boot? Oh well, they could always return the money that they garner from this radio play (or, in this case, give it to a pro-choice charity).
Actually, I don’t mind Rush (the band) that much; no such hope for Rush, however…
